Religious Freedom Day in the United States comes along once a year on January 16 on the anniversary of the adoption of Thomas Jefferson's Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. While the words of that statute state, "Be it enacted by General Assembly that no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever,"many right-wing Christians of the modern era want to defy our founding fathers and make the United States a Christian nation. Now personally I think the secular government, with its ability to adjust to modern times, works fine, and the more inclusive the better. But okay. Suppose we become a Christian nation. Let’s see what might happen. There are 33,000+ Christian denominations worldwide. Exactly which version of Christianity shall we follow?

Jesus said (Matthew 25:34-40):

We will immediately provide everyone with a minimum national income so that every American can afford food, drink, clothing, utilities and shelter.
We will create a national single-payer healthcare program similar to Medicare, so that everyone will have healthcare without having to sign up or pay premiums in order to be covered.
We will immediately initiate a national hospital and prison visitation program, and all college students will be required to volunteer for one year before they can graduate (and college will be free so that the poor can lift themselves up).

Effective immediately, all guns are illegal. You will turn them in to your local police department, where they will be melted down and fashioned into farming implements.

Effective immediately, the United States will accept all Syrian refugees and other refugees from around the world, especially those fleeing hot spots to which the United States may have contributed.
Jesus said (Matthew 5:38-39):
You have heard that it has been said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth'; But I say unto you, That you resist not evil; but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
The Department of Defense will be completely dismantled, its equipment turned to peaceful uses, and its budget diverted to expand social programs and address our other domestic needs.
