As many of you know, I have had a hard time of it finding a job after I lost my last one. This had never happened to me before, but I'd been working for the same company pretty much throughout the recession. I now have seen firsthand where it's a jobless, decent-wage-less recovery. Fortunately, I now have a job (Whee! Finally!), but the first paycheck won't arrive until July 25. So last night JoanMar posted a fundraising diary on my behalf, She ain't heavy, she's our sister... A Kossack needs our help.
And so this is the best news: It has been a great 24 hours! Thank you all, Kossacks! JoanMar has a special diarying touch. We may have set some records. We had 86 comments and 145 recommends. As a result, we were on the Rec List shortly after posting last night and remained on the Rec List nearly all night long. We raised $897 or almost exactly half of our goal amount. If this isn't a record for a 24-hour period, it must be close! Thank you very much to ALL who participated.
