Welcome back to the odd and whimsical poetery of the Peeps related to holidaze! Let’s investigate what today is, because we need all the holidaze we can celebrate, right? Furtunately, our country is back to more or less normality, about which all critters are very happy!
Still, every day seems to be many holidays. Which is good, because we all have our favorites. So I will pick out one or two, and you can click the link above if you’re curious about the rest. This is an Open Thread, so please feel free to add your favorite pomes and photoes and holidaze for today in the Comments!
Today is National Panda Day!
Pandas are quite rare and habitat loss is an issue (see details at the linky above), so be sure to celebrate your pandas today!
How to Observe National Panda Day
Celebrate pandas today! Here are some ideas to get you started:
- See giant pandas—including famous ones—at zoos or in the wild at a reserve.
- Support an organization such as the World Wide Fund for Nature or Pandas International.
- Watch a movie or documentary about giant pandas, or read something about them.
- Check to see if there are any National Panda Day events you could attend or celebrations you could participate in. For example, Disney Parks has marked the day during past observances.
Disney released a panda film, put out this “sneak peek” on National Panda Day 2017: “Born in China” from Disneynature: Cute!
Grizzly and Kodiak are Wild Women
by Caren Krutsinger
Asian Black, Kodiak, Polar Bear, Grizzly and cuddly Teddy bear too….
Which one would you want to find wearing your pajamas when you have the flu?
The purple and pink striped ones would look the prettiest on the Asian Black,
But she is particular, and prefers a polka dotted nightie with a sheer and sexy back.
Let’s say you see a bear creep into your bedroom in the middle of the day,
You see her putting on your pantyhose, and she rips them every which way.
I choose Giant Panda, hoping she will want to wear my flowered blouse.
I would share all my every day clothes with her, for I am not a louse.
-snip- (please read the rest at the linky!)
Better make up your mind, and do it much quicker than you have done in the immediate past.
I just saw a trail of bear prints head toward your house, and they were moving rather fast.
[Caren Krutsinger is on several poetry sites but without a bio there, “a cartoonist, painter, poet, and elementary school counselor who loves playing and lives her joy” (link to Facebook).
